FDI disbursement in Vietnam hits record high
(VOVWORLD) - The disbursement of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Vietnam this year reached a record high of nearly 23.2 billion USD, according to Vietnam’s Foreign Investment Agency (FIA).
As of last Wednesday, registered FDI capital in Vietnam totaled 36.6 billion USD, up 32% from the same period last year.
It was focused on provinces and cities with significant advantages for attracting FDI, such as an established infrastructure, a stable labor force, efforts to streamline administrative procedures, and proactive investment promotion. These localities include Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, and Hanoi.
The processing and manufacturing industry led with more than 23.5 billion USD, followed by real estate. Singapore was the biggest investor with 6.8 billion USD, followed by Japan, Hong Kong (China), China, and South Korea.
