On the afternoon of February 8, information from the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department said that this agency has just received a document from Binh Minh Investment and Trading Company Limited to cancel the contract of winning the auction of the land lot. 3-9 in Thu Thiem New Urban Area (Thu Duc City).

The reason given by this company is that due to the COVID-19 situation affecting business operations, there is not enough capital to invest in the winning land lot at the auction.

Binh Minh Investment and Trading Company Limited is one of four businesses that won the auction of land plots in Thu Thiem New Urban Area in the auction on December 10, 2021.

This company bought land lot 3-9 with an area of ​​​​5,009m2 for VND 5,026 billion. This land lot has a starting price of 728.6 billion VND and the company has paid 7 times higher than the starting price to win the right to use the land.

Thus, Binh Minh will deposit the amount of 140 billion VND that has been deposited for this land lot before the auction and is the second company to put down the auction deposit after Tan Hoang Minh Group.

The other two winning companies are Dream Republic Joint Stock Company, which buys land plots 3-5 with an area of ​​6,446 m2 for 3,820 billion VND and Sheen Mega Joint Stock Company, which buys land lots 3-8 with an area of ​​​​8,568 m2 for 4,000 billion VND

On the other hand, Mr. Le Duy Minh, Director of the City Tax Department, said that even though the first phase has expired for 30 days, he must pay 50% of the money to buy land plots in Thu Thiem, but he reported the documents on the tax system on February 8. enterprises have not yet recorded land use levy. Currently, the tax authority is waiting to receive more information from the State Treasury.

Previously, on January 6, Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department issued a notice requiring businesses to win the Thu Thiem land auction to pay land use fees within 90 days. In the first 30 days, businesses have to pay 50% of the land use fee. 50% of the remaining amount, the enterprise continues to fulfill the payment obligation in the remaining 60 days.

In case the enterprise is late in paying the land use levy, the tax authority will additionally fine the late payment interest at 0.03%/day on the late payment amount.

A representative of the City Tax Department said that in case companies that win the auction but are late to pay the first installment, the tax agency will send a reminder in writing.

If the time limit for payment of the second installment expires, but the enterprise still does not pay, the Tax Department of the City will take coercive measures such as: coercion of bank accounts, coercion of invoices; More serious, the license can be revoked. In addition, it must also be based on the terms of the contract of sale and purchase of the auctioned asset.

In case the winning companies do not pay or do not fully pay the winning amount by the specified time, the deposit will not be refunded. The deposit will be remitted to the state budget.
