Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee worked with the General Director of Samsung Vietnam Complex

On November 27, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuong Van worked with Mr. Choi Joo Hoo, General Director of Samsung Vietnam Complex to discuss cooperation between the two sides in the near future.

At the meeting, Mr. Choi Joo Hoo, General Director of Samsung Vietnam Complex, informed that up to now, Samsung is focusing on investing in 3 provinces and cities of Vietnam including Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen and Ho Chi Minh City with a total registered investment capital of over 17.5 billion USD.

In particular, before the development of the Covid-19 pandemic, since the beginning of 2020, Samsung Vietnam Complex has received the active support of the Vietnamese Government in general and Quang Ninh Province in particular, especially favorable conditions’ promotion for Samsung experts to enter on time via Van Don International Airport, without causing disruption to the production activities of the Company, contributing to the growth of import and export turnover of Vietnam.

Sharing about Samsung's investment strategy in Vietnam, the General Director of Samsung Vietnam Complex affirmed that with favorable regional and international traffic conditions, an improved business investment environment, in the coming time, Samsung will support Quang Ninh to attract investment.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuong Van emphasized that, in 2020, although the Covid-19 pandemic affected all aspects of social life, Quang Ninh has performed well the dual-task " while preventing the Covid-19 epidemic, ensuring socio-economic development”. It is expected that for the whole year of 2020, Quang Ninh's economic growth rate will reach 10%, thereby continuing to affirm that Vietnam in general and Quang Ninh, in general, are always a safe investment area for businesses. Along with keeping the area safe and stable, Quang Ninh province has well performed the national responsibility entrusted by the Government to welcome a team of experts and high-quality personnel from foreign enterprises, including Samsung experts through Van Don International Airport to return to work in factories, serving production and business activities in order to recover the economy.

With the motto: Quang Ninh always accompanies businesses, the success of enterprises is also the success of the province, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed, Quang Ninh will create all the most favorable conditions for businesses to develop and wishes Samsung to research and invest in production in Quang Ninh province. At the same time, effectively supporting businesses in the province in connecting, enhancing competitiveness, expanding supply capacity, participating more deeply in Samsung's global value chain and participating in investment in the field of services, tourism and commerce in the province.

This afternoon, the General Director of Samsung Vietnam Complex visited and inspected Dong Mai Industrial Park, Quang Yen town. Dong Mai Industrial Park currently covers an area of 167.86 hectares, of which industrial land is 124.17 hectares. Up to now, the investor has completed a synchronous investment in essential infrastructure works, the occupancy rate is nearly 72%, including 18 projects with registered investment capital of over 350 million USD. Dong Mai Industrial Park is currently the most synchronous industrial park in terms of infrastructure, which has the highest occupancy rate in the province; attracting many clean and high-tech industrial projects; engaged in manufacturing leading brands in the world.
