Director of the World Heritage Center visits and works in Quang Ninh

Today (March 26), a UNESCO delegation led by Mr. Lazare Eloundou Assomo, Director of the World Heritage Center, visited and worked in Quang Ninh. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hanh received and worked with the delegation.

Before working with the leaders of Quang Ninh province, the UNESCO delegation visited and surveyed the landscape of Ha Long Bay, preserving, restoring and promoting heritage values.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hanh welcomed Director of the World Heritage Center Lazare Eloundou Assomo to visit and work in Quang Ninh.

At the meeting, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hanh informed about the drastic, serious and responsible solutions of Quang Ninh province in preserving and promoting the value of the World Natural Heritage Ha Long Bay. ; especially the management and protection of the ecological environment, strict conservation of biodiversity values, effective treatment of wastewater and garbage that threaten to affect Ha Long Bay; Tourism activities associated with Ha Long Bay capacity assessment; Propaganda to improve understanding for residents and tourists of the responsibility to protect Ha Long Bay heritage...

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee had an in-depth discussion, affirming the special and globally outstanding value of the Yen Tu Monuments and Landscapes Complex; Quang Ninh province's enthusiasm and efforts as the host role in building a dossier to nominate the Yen Tu relics and landscapes complex - Vinh Nghiem pagoda - Con Son, Kiep Bac to submit to UNESCO for recognition as a world heritage site. Up to now, the nomination dossier includes 17 relic clusters, 32 relics have been built with about 2,000 pages of Vietnamese version and English translation, hundreds of maps, simulation drawings, a system of photos and clips recreating the relics. historical, cultural, architectural values, intangible and tangible heritage and overall management plan within the three provinces of Quang Ninh, Hai Duong and Bac Giang.

Currently, the work of building the dossier is being actively implemented and completed, striving to submit the dossier to report to the Government before July 30, and submit it to UNESCO before September 30, 2023. Quang Ninh Province wishes and requests to receive support and assistance from the World Heritage Center in the process of developing and reviewing documents according to regulations. With his knowledge and experience, we hope that the Director of the Lazare World Heritage Center Eloundou Assomo will pay attention and give suggestions so that the dossier reaches the highest quality.
