Discussing plans to organize a conference on sustainable marine farming development in Quang Ninh province

On the afternoon of March 14, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Van Khang chaired a meeting to listen and give opinions on plans to prepare for a conference on sustainable marine farming development in Quang Ninh province. Representatives of the Directorate of Fisheries, Vietnam Seaculture Association, departments, branches, branches, coastal localities, investors of some provincial industrial zones and clusters attended the meeting.

A report from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development shows that Quang Ninh province has the advantage of aquaculture at sea, with a sea surface area equivalent to the land area of over 600,000 hectares, of which about 55,000 hectares has the potential for seafood farming. Along with that, Quang Ninh also has about 32,900 hectares of coastal and tidal land capable of aquaculture. Quang Ninh's coastline is more than 250km long, with convenient traffic connections. This is a very valuable space to develop aquaculture at sea. In 2022, Quang Ninh's total aquatic product output will be nearly 170,000 tons, with a value of over 6,500 billion VND, accounting for nearly 45% of the agricultural industry structure.
