Carrying out the task of economic development, the scale and potential of the province's economy increased significantly; The economic structure is shifting positively towards sustainability. In the first 7 months of 2023, the economic growth rate (GRDP) is high at 9.46%, 0.24 percentage points higher than the growth rate in the same period in 2022. Quang Ninh ranks 2nd in the Red River Delta region. (after Hai Phong City) and ranked 4th in the country.

In particular, services and tourism increasingly affirm their role as key economic sectors of the province, promoting the transformation of development methods from "brown" to "green". With the goal of effectively promoting potential and advantages, the province has synchronously deployed solutions to promote tourism and service development; Maximize new advantages from the strategic transportation system that has been put into operation to increase tourism spending and revenue. In particular, the province issued Plan No. 69/KH-UBND (March 8, 2023) on the tourism growth scenario in 2023 with 136 programs and events, the goal of attracting 15 million visitors. to Quang Ninh.

Since the beginning of the year until now, the province has successfully organized many major activities and events, contributing to attracting tourists and promoting strong economic development, typically: Ha Long Carnaval 2023, Summer Tourism Week Ha Long 2023, National Youth Band Festival, National Sea Kite Festival, Food Festival, Ha Long Summer Welcome and annual cultural and sports events in localities in the province.

In particular, in April 2023, the Quang Ninh - Can Tho flight route and vice versa was launched. The flight route not only opens a "door" connecting the two localities, but also creates a premise for development and promotes effective exploitation of the potential advantages of regional connectivity in terms of tourism development and trade between the Delta. by the Red River and the Mekong Delta. Since its opening, the Quang Ninh - Can Tho route has had 92 takeoffs and landings, with 12,697 passengers and an average occupancy rate of 76% per flight.

Along with that, Quang Ninh also has many programs to promote links and promote unique local products. In the 7 months of May 2023, the province successfully organized 11 OCOP Fairs, OCOP Fairs combined with trade, and Vietnamese People's Fairs giving priority to using Vietnamese goods in localities in the province. Recently, from July 27 to August 1, 2023, at the Palace of Planning, the Provincial Fair and Exhibition took place the typical rural industrial goods exhibition in the Northern region in 2023, attracting over 48,000 people. Number of visitors and shoppers, revenue reached nearly 14 billion VND.

Diversity in organizing activities has contributed to promoting local products to domestic and foreign friends; contributing to making Quang Ninh tourism more attractive and richer... In the first 7 months of 2023, the province's total tourism revenue will reach 20,985.6 billion VND, 1.66 times higher than the same period in 2022.

Sticking to the 2023 work theme on "Improving investment attraction efficiency", All levels and sectors in the province should thoroughly strengthen and promote administrative reform, improve the business investment environment, and enhance competitiveness. From the beginning of the year until now, the province has organized work with many foreign delegations, including the Singapore Business Federation and nearly 30 Singapore businesses to visit and learn about the investment environment and investment opportunities; worked with a delegation from the Thai Investment Promotion Office and about 30 Thai businesses to explore investment opportunities in the area. Along with that, the province continues to build a project to attract large, branded FDI investors to Quang Ninh province by 2025, with a vision to 2030.

Up to now, the total capital attracted foreign direct investment (FDI) in the province has reached 724.63 million USD. Total capital attracted from outside the country reached over 45,304.26 billion VND. Quang Ninh is the only locality in the country for the second time maintaining the top position in all four important indexes (PCI, PAR - Index, PAPI, SIPAS). This is an objective assessment, trust, and recognition of the people and business community for the continuous reform, innovation, and creativity efforts of the local government.
