Flexible investment promotion solutions in the new situation

In the context of the Covid-19 epidemic, Quang Ninh province has built an investment promotion program with a focus, innovation and diversification of investment promotion activities. At the same time, improving the quality of on-the-spot investment promotion in order to effectively exploit competitive advantages, increasing the chances of success for businesses investing in the province, and creating conditions for businesses that have invested in maintaining and expanding production and business activities.

Representative of Quang Ninh IPA worked online with JETRO Hanoi on the organization of an online conference to promote investment of Japanese enterprises in the field of processing, manufacturing and logistics industries in Quang Ninh in 2021, expected to be held in August.

Since the beginning of the year, IPA Quang Ninh has received and processed 31 dossiers of planning research; received and processed 45 dossiers of application for approval of investment policies with a total investment of over 63.8 trillion VND. In which, the focus is on the fields of tourism, services, industrial production in the areas of Dong Trieu, Ha Long, Cam Pha, Uong Bi, Dam Ha. Compared to the same period in 2020, the number of projects received and handled in the first 6 months of 2021 increased by 32.3%; the number of projects approved by the Provincial People's Committee for investment decreased by 40% over the same period, but the total investment increased by 3.7 times over the same period.

Ms. Vu Thi Kim Chi, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of IPA Quang Ninh, said: In the coming time, while strictly implementing measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic, IPA will continue to focus on direction, management with practical and effective investment attraction solutions. In which, continuing to review the projects advised and implemented by IPA to focus on removing difficulties, speeding up the implementation progress so that the project can soon go into production and business activities, contributing to the economic growth of the province. At the same time, continuing to advise the Provincial People's Committee on improving the investment environment, improving the competitiveness of the PCI province in general and the competitiveness of the department, the branch and the locality; coordinating with stakeholders to organize online and face-to-face promotion conferences in the fields of processing, manufacturing, logistics, and pharmaceuticals.
