However, at present, the city has a serious lack of parking lots, while the needs of residents and visitors are increasing. According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Deputy Head of the Urban Management Department of Ha Long City, currently there are 68 points in the city, parking lots with a total area of 193,472m2. In which, there are 55 parking spots on the roadway and 1 on the sidewalk, with a total area of 20,374m2. The planned parking lots are 12, total area is 173,098m2. In addition to the operating points and parking lots, there are currently 9 parking spots in the area, with a total area of 28,495.2m2 that have been approved for planning but have not yet been invested or have not yet been completed. use. In which, there is 1 car park under construction, total area 2,408m2; parking lots that have not been implemented are 8 parking lots, total area is 26,087.2m2. According to the City Master Plan approved by the Prime Minister in 2019 and the Southern Planning of Hoanh Bo district (old) approved by the Provincial People's Committee, the parking demand calculated in these plans includes 10 subdivisions. of Ha Long (old) area needs 259.6ha; 5 subdivisions of Hoanh Bo area (old) have identified 2 bus stations with an area of 7.6ha. It is known that before the demand for parking places, Ha Long City has also strengthened its review to have an investment plan to serve the needs of the people.
