The Foreign Investment Department (Ministry of Planning and Investment) said that as of August 20, 2023, total foreign investment capital (FDI) registered in Vietnam reached more than 18.1 billion USD, an increase of 8.8 billion USD. 2% over the same period.

Regarding capital contribution and share purchase activities of foreign investors, there were 2,268 capital contribution and share purchase transactions with a total value of more than 4.4 billion USD, a decrease of 6.5% in the number of transactions and an increase in the number of transactions. 62.8% of capital.
Regarding implemented capital, it is estimated that foreign investment projects have disbursed about 13.1 billion USD, an increase of 1.3% over the same period.
Foreign investors have invested in 18 industries out of Vietnam's 21 national economic sectors. In particular, the processing and manufacturing industry continues to lead in attracting FDI capital with a total investment capital of nearly 13 billion USD, accounting for nearly 67.8% of total registered investment capital and an increase of 14.7% compared to the previous year. same period.

Regarding investment partners, in the first 8 months of 2023, there were 100 countries and territories investing in Vietnam. Of which, Singapore leads with a total investment capital of more than 3.8 billion USD, accounting for more than 21.2% of total investment capital in Vietnam, down 15.4% over the same period in 2022.
