Investment promotion conference in Quang Ninh province with Taiwanese (China) investors
On November 9, in Ha Long City, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei (China) held an investment promotion conference in Quang Ninh province with the Taiwanese (Chinese) investors. The conference is conducted in face-to-face and online format.
The Quang Ninh side also stated that the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term defines the development goals and builds Quang Ninh into a modern industrial and service province, one of the dynamic and comprehensive development centers of the North; continuing to strongly renew the growth model, restructuring the economy, changing the development mode from "brown" to "green;" accelerating the speed of industrialization - modernization - urbanization. In which, the province gives special priority to the development of green industry, clean industry, high technology, smart technology, being friendly with the environment; rapidly increasing the contribution proportion of the processing, manufacturing, high technology and smart technology industries; rational and sustainable development of the mining industry, contributing to ensuring energy security according to the plan.
The conference was attended by more than 100 representatives representing Taiwanese businesses and investors in an online form.
There were sharing of feelings and assessments of businesses and investors about the business investment environment of Vietnam and Quang Ninh province, the potential and investment opportunities of industrial parks, economic zones in the province. In which, it is emphasized that Quang Ninh is a province that continuously achieves high and stable growth and is always in the leading group of the country, with the average growth rate of 5 years reaching 10.7%; has domestic budget revenue which belongs to the group of provinces and cities with the highest revenue in the country; GRDP per capita in 2020 will reach over $7,000, more than twice the national average. The system of 16 industrial parks, 3 border-gate economic zones and 2 coastal economic zones with a total area of 377,670ha, distributed in 11/13 district-level units planned by the Prime Minister will be a potential area which Quang Ninh province wishes to continue to call and attract Taiwanese (Chinese) investors to research and invest, especially in the fields of processing, manufacturing, and electronics - semiconductor industries.
At the same time, the delegates also exchanged and clarified a number of issues that Taiwan (China) investors are concerned about like potentials, distinct advantages and orientations to attract investment in the province, high-quality human resources, administrative procedures and investment environment, investment incentive policies, cooperation in training human resources...
At the conference, Quang Ninh province expressed its gratitude, acknowledged and absorbed the valuable comments of the delegates to continue to make efforts to effectively implement solutions to promote foreign direct investment capital and especially Taiwan (China) investment capital into Quang Ninh province.
Quang Ninh province hopes that after this conference, agencies and units will increasingly understand each other, stick together and connect regularly to exchange information in support and companion to achieve the goal of attracting investment and promoting the development of Taiwanese (Chinese) enterprises in the province.
