President Vo Van Thuong receives former President of Chile
On the afternoon of March 27, at the Presidential Palace, President Vo Van Thuong received Mrs. Michelle Bachelet - former President of Chile who is visiting Vietnam on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Chile (March 25). March 1971 - March 25, 2023).
At the reception, President Vo Van Thuong warmly welcomed Ms. Michelle Bachelet to return to visit Vietnam; highly appreciated her affection and special interest in contributing, consolidating, and developing the traditional relationship of friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Chile.
The President said that the two sides maintaining delegation exchanges, especially high-level delegations, are important in promoting cooperative relations between the two countries and two peoples. The President highly appreciated Ms. Michelle Bachelet in her position as High Commissioner for Human Rights of the United Nations, who has made many positive contributions to the common work of the United Nations and the international community.
For her part, former President of Chile Michelle Bachelet respectfully thanked President Vo Van Thuong for taking the time to receive; Thank you to the Vietnamese diplomatic agencies for coordinating to organize the delegation's visit to Vietnam this time, which went smoothly. Ms. Michelle Bachelet said that within the framework of this visit to Vietnam, the delegation will visit Binh Duong and Nghe An provinces to promote cooperation between localities and people-to-people exchange activities of the two countries.
