On April 3, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the Government's online conference with localities and the regular Government meeting in March.
In the morning, the conference discussed the socio-economic situation in March and the first 3 months of 2023, the implementation of Resolution 01 of the Government, the Socio-economic recovery and development program, 3 target programs. National targets, allocation and disbursement of public investment capital; tasks and solutions for socio-economic development in the second quarter of 2023 and the coming time.
GDP growth is lower than the scenario, but is a good level compared to the world
The conference assessed that in the first quarter of 2023, the world's difficult situation will increase, especially the world economic situation is not favorable, inflation is still high, global economic growth, especially in developing economies, is still high. Large economy dropped sharply...; Some internal problems still exist in the country.
Under the Party's leadership, directly and regularly, the Politburo and the Secretariat, headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the participation of the entire political system, the support of the people, and the support of the Party. support from international friends, efforts of governments at all levels, and the socio-economic situation to achieve major goals.
The macroeconomy continues to be stable, inflation is controlled, major balances are guaranteed, and key goals approved by the Party and National Assembly are basically well implemented.
Gross domestic product (GDP) in the first quarter of 2023 is estimated to increase by 3.32% over the same period last year; This is a good level compared to the world and regional average.
Core inflation is controlled at an appropriate level; The growth rate of the consumer price index (CPI) tends to decrease, with an overall increase of 4.18% in the first quarter. The currency market is basically stable.
State budget revenue in the first quarter is estimated to reach 30.3% of the estimate. Trade surplus is estimated at 4.07 billion USD, double the same period in 2022. Energy security and food security are maintained.
Production and business activities are maintained, some areas have a good increase. The service sector continues to recover positively. International visitors to our country reached nearly 2.7 million visitors, 29.7 times higher than the same period last year.
Social security and improving people's lives are emphasized; Estimated Tet support budget for 63 localities is about 9,500 billion VND; Distributed 18.3 thousand tons of rice for relief and famine relief during the Lunar New Year and the beginning of the year.
The labor and employment situation in the first quarter recovered positively. The fields of culture, sports, tourism, and information and propaganda continue to receive attention and promotion.
