Quang Ninh Province met and worked with the Embassy of the Republic of Finland in Vietnam
On April 16, 2021, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province held a meeting and worked with the Finnish Embassy delegation led by Mr. Kari Kahiluoto, Ambassador of the Republic of Finland.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Nguyen Tuong Van - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee with the participation of Leaders of the Departments: Construction, Science and Technology, Natural Resources and Environment, Industry and Trade, Foreign Affairs, Tourism and Investment Promotion Agency (IPA). At the meeting, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee informed the Finnish Ambassador about the socio-economic development situation of Quang Ninh in 2020 and in several first months of 2021, especially in administrative reform, improving the business investment environment by maintaining the top position in the PCI Index for 4 consecutive years, and also rising to the top of the PAPI 2020 Index in 2020. He hoped that the visit in Quang Ninh by the Finnish Ambassador would open up many cooperation opportunities between Quang Ninh and Finnish investors.

Mr. Kari Kahiluoto, Ambassador of the Republic of Finland in Vietnam congratulated the achievements of Quang Ninh province over the past time and informed about funding sources to support public investment and other financial instruments for cooperation between Finnish partners and Quang Ninh province.
Under the authorization of the Provincial People's Committee, the IPA Committee was assigned to coordinate the working session between the Embassy of Finland and the departments and branches of Quang Ninh province. At the meeting, the two sides mentioned and exchanged technological solutions, potentials and opportunities for cooperation in the fields of: gas power development; waste and solid waste treatment into energy and construction materials; wastewater treatment; solutions for the mining industry; seaport solutions and smart logistics system; supporting ODA capital with the aim of promoting cooperation in the application of scientific and technological achievements serving the development of circular economy, smart city, sustainable development; high-quality travel and tourism services
The Ambassador of the Republic of Finland in Vietnam and businesses: Wartsila, KONE, Metso... expressed their interest and appreciation for the achievements of socio-economic development, investment environment and potentials of Quang Ninh province in related fields, meanwhile, he hoped that Quang Ninh departments and branches will support to connect with partners in the above fields and projects so that the two sides could cooperate, accelerate the project implementation progress and improve capacity in technology, governance. Representatives of Quang Ninh Department shared and consulted the necessary information to the Ambassadors, counselors and Finnish businesses to serve the process of research and project proposals of interested investors.
At the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue to maintain contact, exchange and provide information, connect Finnish businesses with relevant partners in the province to implement specific cooperation activities between Finland with the authorities and businesses of Quang Ninh province in the coming time.
