The Provincial Tax Department put into operation the e-invoice operation center.

Previously, the Ministry of Finance issued a Circular guiding the implementation of e-invoices and decisions on implementing the e-invoice system in two phases.

The first phase started in November, 2021 in 6 localities including Hanoi, HCM City, Binh Dinh, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong and Phu Tho, and the second phase is scheduled to begin in April, 2022 in other 57 localities. It is expected that 100% of enterprises nationwide will have used e-invoices by June 30th, 2022.

To actively implement the scheme, the provincial People’s Committee has established a steering committee led by Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Khang since October 1,2021.

The Quang Ninh Tax Department put into operation the e-invoice operation center on October 25, 2021 at its headquarters. The center is responsible for connecting online with the General Department of Taxation’s E-Invoice Implementation Operations Center, ensuring the regular exchange of information as well as promptly answering and removing possible problems.

The provincial Tax Department has also provided households and businesses with active support such as setting up a hotline, working with e-invoice suppliers, etc.

According to Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Van Khang, Quang Ninh aims to reach the target of 100% of local enterprises eligible to convert their paper invoices into electronic ones by December 31, 2021according to Decree No. 123/2020/ND- CP, and 100% of eligible households and businesses will have registered to use e-invoices by January 31, 2022.

Introduced in 2010, e-invoices have been well-received by the business community as they helped save time and expenses. They have also allowed the department to modernise its management system and to become more time-efficient.
