On January 20, 2022, the Provincial People's Committee held a conference to announce the results of DDCI Quang Ninh in 2021. According to the results announced at the conference, especially in the block of districts, towns and cities, Quang Yen town ranked first. leading position with 79.83 points. Out of the 9 surveyed component indexes, the assessment of Quang Yen town has 6/9 indicators including: Transparency and access to information; land access and infrastructure development; unofficial expenses; time costs; business support; Local dynamism is highly appreciated, leading among 13 localities. These are important component indexes that determine the ranking to help Quang Yen town break through and rise to the top of DDCI Quang Ninh 2021.

Especially, in recent years, the quality of economic management and administration of the town government has been increasingly improved, creating an impressive growth rate. The economic structure has shifted from agriculture to industry and services. In 2021, although under the general influence of the Covid-19 pandemic, the economic growth rate of Quang Yen town increased sharply, reaching 36.2%. Total social investment capital is 12,500 billion VND, an increase of 26.9% compared to 2020. Total state budget revenue is 986,643 billion VND, up 16% compared to 2020, and is the top locality in the province. Quang Ninh on increasing budget revenue. Quang Yen town has also started new construction and completed many dynamic, strategic, synchronous and modern traffic works to promote regional linkages such as: Expressway intersection project at Dam Nha Mac, riverside route from the intersection of Dam Nha Mac to Hiep Hoa commune; connecting road from the expressway to Song Khoai Industrial Park.

Along with that, attracting investment in industrial zones and developing businesses are also making great contributions to the town's socio-economic development, especially in terms of budget revenue, job creation for local labor. Currently, Quang Yen town is attracting many large corporations to invest in industrial parks such as: Song Khoai Industrial Park, Nam - North Tien Phong Industrial Park, Dong Mai Industrial Park... Particularly, East Industrial Park Mai, the occupancy rate of secondary investors is over 80%. As for Song Khoai Industrial Park, Jinko Solar PV Vietnam is currently building a factory with a total investment of VND 19,882 billion. This is also the first investor present in Song Khoai Industrial Park, also the first project to be granted a business registration certificate in Quang Yen coastal economic zone since it was decided to establish by the Prime Minister. In 2021, Quang Yen town established 95 new businesses, bringing the total number of businesses in the town to 784.
