Smokeless industry regains growth momentum

In Ha Long City, the tourism center of the province, after 2 years of being affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, the tourism industry has quickly recovered strongly. If in 2019 the city welcomed 11.9 million visitors (international visitors were 4.3 million), in 2020 it will only receive 5.7 million visitors, in 2021 it will be 1.6 million visitors. However, only from the beginning of the year to May 23, the city welcomed as many visitors as in 2021, with tourism revenue reaching over VND 2,600 billion.
Not only Ha Long city, in other localities in the province, the tourism industry also has impressive growth. As in Co To, the number of visitors to the locality in the first 6 months of the year was estimated at 82,000, up 2.5 times over the same period. In 2022, Co To district has many big events, creating many highlights to attract tourists such as President Ho Chi Minh's memorial site on Co To island recognized as a special national monument, inaugurated as a special national monument. The national flagpole on Co To island has attracted thousands of people and tourists to enjoy. These are events to stimulate tourism, introduce and promote the precious values and great historical significance of President Ho Chi Minh's memorial site on Co To island as well as beautiful and sharp images. unique culture of Co To island district to domestic and foreign tourists in 2022.
The strong tourism recovery of localities has led to impressive growth figures of the tourism industry in the first 6 months of the year. According to statistics of the Department of Tourism, the total number of tourists to Quang Ninh reached about 5.5 million. Total revenue from tourists reached over 12,100 billion VND. Thus, the number of visitors as well as tourism revenue more than doubled over the same period in 2021.
