The Prime Minister asked Malaysia to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese goods

Receiving the Malaysian Ambassador, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed that Malaysia create more favorable conditions for Vietnamese goods and services to access the market, including products that meet Halal standards.

On the afternoon of April 7, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Malaysian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam Dato' Tan Yang Thai on the occasion of starting his working term in Vietnam.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed Mr. Dato' Tan Yang Thai to take up his duties in Vietnam on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations (1973-2023).

The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always values the friendly relationship and strategic partnership with Malaysia and hopes that during his term, the Ambassador will actively promote his role as an important bridge to promote this relationship. continue to develop more widely and effectively.

Appreciating the achievements in the two countries' relations over recent times, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked the Ambassador to pay attention to promoting the exchange of high-level delegations at all levels; Effectively deploy bilateral cooperation mechanisms, including the Joint Committee on Economic-Scientific-Technical Cooperation and the Joint Trade Committee; coordinate to organize practical activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Malaysia (1973-2023); promoting security-defense cooperation, especially preventing transnational crime, drugs, and cyber security; further promote cultural cooperation, sports, tourism and people-to-people exchanges.

The Prime Minister welcomed the positive results achieved in economic, trade and investment cooperation. Two-way trade turnover in 2022 will reach nearly 15 billion USD, an increase of more than 17% compared to 2021. Malaysia continues to be the second largest investor in ASEAN investing in Vietnam with a total registered capital of 13 billion USD.
