Transport ministry disburses $2bln in public capital in 8M
Nearly $4 billion assigned to ministry in 2023.
The Ministry of Transport has disbursed over VND 49.7 trillion ($2.07 billion) in public investment capital this year, double the amount in the same period last year.
The figure is equal to 52 per cent of the annual target.
More than VND95.2 trillion ($3.96 billion) in public investment was assigned to the ministry by the Prime Minister this year, a 1.7-fold increase year-on-year.
Disbursement has been focused on the Eastern North-South Expressway project, with over VND36.2 trillion ($1.5 billion), or 74 per cent.
Disbursement in official development assistance (ODA) projects reached more than VND5 trillion ($208 million), or 34 per cent of the annual target.
In order to speed up disbursement over the remaining months of the year, the ministry has asked investors to accelerate investment procedures and kick off construction of other projects as scheduled.
