Uong Bi welcomes the key development of the Northern coastal economic zone
Quang Yen - Uong Bi coastal economic zone will be built and developed into a multi-sectoral coastal economic zone in the period of 2020 - 2035, forming an industrial, service, port logistics and modern urban center through of Quang Ninh province and the Red River Delta region.
The economic zone has a total area of 13,303ha and is planned to be divided into 2 main subdivisions, including an urban and high-tech industrial complex with an area of 6,403 ha in 5 wards of Uong Bi city (including Quang Trung, Trung and Trung). Vuong, Phuong Nam, Phuong Dong, Yen Thanh) and 8 wards and communes of Quang Yen town; Seaport, seaport, industrial and urban service area Mac house has an area of 6,899 ha in 7 wards and communes of Quang Yen town.
The main development goal of Uong Bi - Quang Yen coastal economic zone is to exploit the advantages of natural conditions and location in connecting economy, trade and services with coastal economic zones such as: : Van Don, Dinh Vu - Cat Hai, Thai Binh in order to develop a group of coastal economic zones to promote the potential and competitive advantages of each economic zone and build linkages for socio-economic development association between economic zones and neighboring areas.
