Walk in Duong Huy miners' footsteps
A journey to Duong Huy underground mind has given the photographer Duong Phuong Dai an authentic experience of what it is like to be a coal miner.
It took him 10 minutes to go into the underground mine on a “monkey winch” running from the main door of the well. He then had to walk for about 15 minutes to arrive the place where miners are working.
The manager of the workshop No.2, Nguyen Khanh Du, said: “His workshop is responsible for preventing cropping, digging 4 furnace mirrors for basic construction and doing preparatory tasks for official production. The unit can excavate 13-15m kiln/day and 300-310m/month. Its mining team has won the prize of the TKV’s highest production capacity in the past few years.”
