6. Orientation of the economy:
(1) Tourism: Effectively exploit potentials of the
world’s natural heritage and traditional cultural
heritage; create a friendly and attractive tourism
environment and build and complete synchronous
tourist infrastructure system for tourism development;
Strive to attract 2.5 million tourists by 2030, including
170 thousand foreign tourists to Van Don.
(2) Modern services: Concentrate on developing
and trading in airport and airway transport; strongly
push up developing logistics to enable Van Don to
become a world center for logistics services and a
gate of goods transit to the Southeast Asia as well
as developing other sectors such as cinema, fashion
and international events …; and strive to develop Van
Don as a Asia – Pacific development finance center;
(3) High-tech industry: Focus on some sectors
applying high technologies such as pharmaceutical
medicine, biology and nano technology, information
technology in production system, advanced
technologies, energy technology and environment;
(4) Agriculture: Develop eco-agriculture and high-
tech agriculture aiming at tourism service demands;
sustainably develop aquaculture with clean and
safe technology; link forest resources development
to sustainable development; sustainably develop
marine economics on a basis of using all advantages
of natural conditions and ecosystem diversity and link
to security defense to protect rights and sovereignty
on the territorial sea.

- 80 km from Mong Cai city
- 150 km from Fangchenggang City (China)
- In addition to that, Van Don’s geographical location
allows rapid connection by road system to the Red
River delta (National Routes No. 10 and 18); to the
Northwestern Region via Lang Son (National Route
